The house is conceived in response to its setting, drawing from the qualities of the rural landscape, the orientation of the site, and the views that define its surroundings. At the same time, the design establishes a contemporary dialogue with the architectural traditions of the Mesogeia region.
Typologically, the project references the local makrinari dwelling, adopting its elongated footprint, simple geometry, and pitched roof as the basis for a restrained architectural language. The building unfolds linearly across the site, reinforcing the clarity of its spatial organization and creating a direct relationship between the interior spaces and the landscape beyond.
The main view is framed toward the north through generous openings positioned on the narrow side of the volume, transforming the surrounding scenery into an integral part of everyday life. Along the southern and eastern façades, carefully proportioned openings maximize natural daylight and solar gain, contributing to a comfortable and energy-conscious living environment throughout the year.
The volume is further articulated through a subtle vertical fragmentation, incorporating a compact attic level beneath the roof. This approach reduces the perceived scale of the building and allows it to sit more gently within the landscape. Through its measured proportions, simple forms, and careful orientation, the house seeks a quiet presence—one that feels rooted in place while remaining distinctly contemporary.
