Type: Commercial, Office Status: In Progress Location: Thessaloniki, Greece Size: 1785 sqm Year: 2023-ongoing

  • Nestled in front of an industrial coffee-roasting facility, this office building is both a workspace and a place of exchange—an architectural response to the rhythm of production and the rituals of gathering. Drawing from the archetype of the ancient Greek stoa, the building presents itself as a refined industrial shed, its linear form sheltering a rich interplay of transparency, shadow, and light.

At its core, an open courtyard becomes the heart of the project— a void that becomes a presence and organizes movement, fosters informal encounters, and brings nature into daily work life. The ground floor, open and fluid, is designed for engagement: a reception, open lounges with soft seating, a laboratory, a multipurpose hall, and demonstration kitchens compose a sequence of dynamic spaces for collaboration and experimentation. Above, the mezzanine hosts quieter workspaces bathed in natural light from a central skylight, offering a moment of retreat within the larger whole.

A glazed façade, veiled with perforated shading devices, creates a dialogue between interior and exterior, balancing openness with privacy. In front of the building, a public square and garden unfold, weaving Mediterranean flora with a network of paths—some designed for quiet contemplation, others guiding pedestrians along a central axis toward the main entrance. Inside, a muted material palette forms a backdrop to moments of color—vibrant interiors enclosed within restrained volumes. The result is a space that is both monumental and intimate, a contemporary reimagining of a place for work, learning, and community.
